Back in 1994, Former President Jimmy Carter visited embrace of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il , and despite Carter's June 19 pronouncement, "The crisis is over." Carter said North Korea's nuclear weapons program remains the most serious threat to peace in Asia and to the security of the United States.
Because of Carter's intervention, round of diplomacy when underway with the North. A round of U.S.-North Korean negotiations begun and President Bill Clinton with very little to show for it. North Korea so often uses the Democrat Liberal Presidents as lackeys to get what they want.
As they did in 1994 with Jimmy Carter, the new negotiation with Bill Clinton is another foolist endeavor by a democrat administration to get a temporary fix for this dictator. The return of these two Journalist, sent over by former Vice President Al Gore was certainly needed before any real negotiations should have started. I wonder how much did the former VP know concerning whether he actually place his reporters in that type of situation?
Kim is in many ways addicted to blackmailing the United States and then never fulfilling his promises and as always the liberal Progressives are so willing to give Kim Jong Il what he wants. The North has never abandon their nuclear ambitions, and they never will.
It seems not only the Obama administration, but past democrat administrations are not willing to really negotiate with North Korea in a meaningful way. In a way that six party talks would accomplished. North is not willing to do honest negotiations because they know that one on one with a already corrupt democrat administration is the only way they can get food for their army and avoid starvation of it's people and in the meantime keep themselves in power.
The real goal for the North is not to continue this type of food in exchange for either people or lobbing missiles close by Japan or the United States, but to keep themselves in power. With tough negotiations the type that Reagan did in the 1980's we could see what happen to Germany in the 1980's happen to Korea now. The unification of the North with the South under democratic country friendly to the United States would bring peace to the region.
ABC News reports that there were two demands by North Korea that the United States has to do in order for them to released the Reporters, One being a apology from the United States and that was what Secretary Clinton did and a high level emissary to come to have his picture taken with the dictator! That was met by the other Clinton the former President. BUt one can now wonder what was offer to Kim? Like Maybe New Jersey? Who would want that? The Blackmailing of the United States will go on , but as always the Obama apology tour keeps on rolling along!
